Sustainability is an integral part of our DNA, but we’re not there yet. We are actively working on improving our goals and working towards a greener, cleaner future. Want to see what this means for us? Discover the initiatives we’re working towards.
Sustainability is so much more than sourcing materials and recycling. It’s about bringing you peace of mind in products that are easy to maintain and install. Or bringing you extra comfort in a floor that’s quiet and agreeable to walk on. We truly believe in providing quality products that’ll last you a lifetime – reducing unnecessary costs and waste.
Our materials are ethically sourced and created, and we’re committed to being honest and transparent towards our customers. Our wood stems from PEFC-certified forests – we refuse to use endangered tree species. Our products are designed and created in the EU, stimulating local employment for our production sites across Belgium, France, and Norway. For more information, take a look at our full list of sustainability certificates.
Our products are treated using responsible materials, compliant with EU regulations, that don’t affect your health or well-being. Free of ortho-phthalates, 100% REACH compliant (an EU law which aims to protect individuals and the environment from the risk of harmful substances), and with the majority of our floors holding an A+ ranking (the highest possible ranking) according to the French VOC regulations for Indoor Air Quality, our products are made with your health in mind.
Our choice to use natural materials goes beyond certifications. It’s been scientifically proven that using natural products such as wood in your interior project significantly improves a person’s mental well-being, bringing them closer to nature – a major factor in creating a happy and healthy interior.
Taking care of our planet means making conscious choices about the materials we use. Our love for wood is part of our DNA. By using locally and sustainably sourced wood, and by using the right technology to get the most value out of every single trunk while minimizing waste, we aim to make the most out of this beautiful, renewable material. The best part? Our floors are CO2-negative from cradle to gate when they leave the factory floor. That means they’re storing more CO2 than what’s being emitted into the atmosphere.
At BerryAlloc, we aim to create an environment in which our employees can thrive. We believe in providing them with the freedom to grow, explore new ideas, and reach their full potential in an environment that makes them feel protected, valued, and empowered.

We want our products to be fully recyclable, so that users can easily drop off a used floor in the recyclable section of a waste management centre. This means we can reuse old floors, lengthening the product’s life cycle.
In the wood industry, you’re required to buy a full trunk as a raw material. The most revered part is the centre of the tree, with the fewest knots. It’s our goal to use all aspects of the tree, creating beautiful floors with natural knots and cracks, minimising waste.
Eco-certificates assess products based on environmental aspects, including transparency and quality. We are currently working towards certifying our products with labels that provide your project with the necessary ecological qualifications and easier access to sustainability subsidies.
The EU has implemented new regulations to allow full traceability of wood-based products. From plot to plank, at BerryAlloc, we will be EUDR-compliant and assure traceability where it matters.
Maintaining full transparency towards our customers, each product will hold its own passport, including technical documentation, used materials, the origins of the wood, etc.
We’ll take back your used planks and properly rework, recycle, and dispose of the materials as needed. Although this is already an achievement for our parquet in France, we aim to implement this for all our products.
